STATE OF THE ART SONIC WATER LEVEL METER

Ensure an accurate well measurement with the Model 300 water level measuring device from Ravensgate Corporation in Ridgecrest, California.

Uses acoustic air signals to measure the depth of the well.

Adjustable temperature setting for sound velocity variation.

About Model 300

Accurate Depth Reading

The SONIC method utilizes the air in a well to transmit an acoustic signal to the water surface, rather than introducing foreign objects into the well. Simply insert the measuring duct into the access port in the well cap, making sure the measuring duct extends completely through the well cap. Then just press the red “POWER ON” button, and the water level will be displayed after the first “ping,” typically. If an inaccurate reading is received, then the initial depth setting may have been incorrect. If so, simply change the depth setting and press the “POWER ON” button again, and the meter will provide a new reading.

Use Regional Map Tables

Regional maps (USA only) and temperature tables for both Fahrenheit and Celsius are provided with each meter. For USA owners, the regional maps are divided into sections for your state. First, locate the region where the well is located on the state map. Next, use the corresponding regional number on the table to find the temperature setting for the appropriate month. Map tables may not be useful in regions with geothermal activity or anomalous subsurface conditions. For owners outside the USA (and for those with geothermal or anomalous conditions), it is necessary to know the well water temperature and the monthly average temperature in order for the meter to provide the most accurate reading.

Configure for Accuracy

For the best accuracy, it is necessary to compensate for the variation of sound velocity with well air temperature. Just simply adjust the temperature by using the “TEMP” toggle switch; pressing the switch up will raise the temperature and down will lower it. The device keeps track of the most recent setting.

Measure Deep Wells

The DEPTH switch optimizes the measuring capability for deeper wells. In the “normal” setting, the measurement range is 10 to 500 feet (3 to 150m). For the “Deep” setting, the measurement range is 200 to 1200 feet (60 to 350m).

“As an owner and employer in a competitive industry, I strive to provide premium tools and equipment on the job site. The Model 300 really stands up as far as quality and durability. We have a unit on every truck and use them every day. They are fast and accurate on both our shallower sets (as shallow as 50 ft) and deeper sets of 1000 ft or more. I appreciate quality customer service when I come across it; Ravensgate has gone above and beyond on every transaction we have had. As the years go by and we update and expand the company, we will continue to count on Ravensgate to provide a quality product in a timely fashion.”
